Happened to me a few years ago. Applied for a job as a wolf biologist working with the endangered Red Wolf. I was probably the most qualified individual in at least the state of South Carolina at that time. The guy said he recognized that fact, but admitted that I was "the wong sex and the wrong color." Oh well...it wasn't up to him to change that 'demand', so I just thanked him for his honestly.

I also hate how business have to hire equal sex. women cannot do some jobs near as a man can because of the physical involveness. I hate bitch cops, all they do is traffic violations because they are so useless. i hope they know their place.

On this one show that they did on equal rights they followed a women restaurant owner around for a couple days time talking to her about how she was ebiong charged because not enough women worked at the restaurant. and the funny thing was 95%+ applicants were male, she even put looking for female waitresses and no rise in female applicants came. and she was still charged a bulk fine at the ending because her employees werent equal numbers in sex.

this kind of stuff is pure bullshit. equal right may have worked years ago when high discrimination occured, but these days it should be gotten rid of.

i dont want to walk into my bank and have some towel head speaking broken english to me. its pure bullshit!

Who is to say that it wouldn't go on even just a bit more if it was nixed? Racism is definitely still prevalent today, and to make those steps backwards again just isn't something that I think too many people are willing to risk.

It sucks that qualified people lose jobs that are rightfully theirs, and it shouldn't happen, but it's technically "whitey's" fault that such a law had to be passed in the first place.

I agree. This shit is tearing this country apart. Don't discriminate unless it's in your favor. They do not want to be equal they want to be treated better than. They are discriminating. Strong Form Affirimitive Action
Reserves a certain number of positions for disadvantaged groups of people.

Absolutely absurd in my eyes, reverse discrimination, ignores qualifications all together.

Weak Form Affirimitive Action
Two resumes in front of me, nothing matters but skills, true 100% equality, no reference to anything but qualitifications.

Seems perfect right? But this totally ignores the fact that people may have not had the OPPORTUNITY to receive the qualifications. AKA, someone in a poverty stricten background could not attend Harvard or even learn computer skills as such. Is this a reason they should not be hired, who knows, but in a way I think everyone deserves an opportunity.

Whats the next discussion...Just Cause Contracting and Employment at Will?
