That's not very bloody nice at all.
But why do they always use the word 'attack'? The shark isn't 'attacking' anything.. it's looking for food, and goes in for a nibble or so.. it's not 'attacking'.. and there's too much histeria caused by people using words like that. Apart from histeria it also creates a certain thrill or danger for people who want to 'brave the sharks' and get all macho because they didn't get 'attacked'...

not that that poor girl was trying to be macho.

Poor girl, but they can do wonders with surgery these days and She's still alive and I bet she'll keep surfing too.. good luck!

This girl is somewhat of a phenomenon. I saw a tv special on her a few months ago. She's got sponsorships out the ying-yang. I'm not so sure that she needs donations, but I'm sure she could use cards and letters encouraging her to keep surfing. In one article I read, her father said she is "back and forth" on whether or not she'll keep going.

What's sooo ill here is not only did a kid lose an arm, it's the math involved, the 'Where was God?' thingie...

Of all the people swimming in the ocean that day all over the world, the odds of one shark strong enough and impulsed enough to target that one person... The odds have got to be astronomical. Shark attacks are so rare yet the littlelest bite makes headlines. You've more of a chance of losing an arm or life in the average bathroom. Yet somehow, someway, 1 friggin' shark out of the umpteen millions in the ocean picks that one kid of millions of people who swim in the ocean each day...

SUCKS is all I can say. I hope they get her a new arm or figure some way to grow her a new one with all this fancy shmancy genetic engineering going on. I'll bet if she stands up and fights with even a prosthetic arm she'll be back in there at championship level anyhow.

As ironic as it seems in this twilight zone of a world, scientists will probably find the secret of regrowing limbs from some substance in shark blood or tissue. It fucking figures.

They did trap for the shark that was hanging around for a week or so and killed it, it was a great white I believe and the bite circumference seemed in the range...

Nibble my ass, he flossed his teeth with a chunk of her surf board. She is very inspirational, saw her on Primetime a few weeks ago.
