I'm sure that he will pull through. I'm just worried about how this will affect his life.. mobility, thinking and all of that. he's had 3 or 4 brain surgeries. part of the brain was removed due to a stroke which rendered that part of the brain dead. when he was more stable and all that they decided to put that part of the brain back in. We don't know if that dead part will affect him in any way.
I don't know what to say except that I hope your nephew, your family and yourself nothing but good luck on your situation and truly hope it will work out well
I am so very sorry to see a little boy going through all that! And you/his family, please accept all our hope and faith in the Universe that he will pull through asap!
He's a leo, he has to!
My 4yo will be 5 years old on August 16th too!
Someone asked what a trust fund would be used for if the Canadian Health Care System took care of the medical costs.
Well, no professional here, but here are a few things that might have to be covered. My eldest was very ill when she was little and was taken to another city for hospitalization so I'm familar with some of the expenses.
For instance:
Medications in the hospital are covered, not outside of it unless you have your own insurance through work etc.
Most things like leg braces, wheelchairs, walkers are not covered.
The child was flown to another city..hence accomodations, meals etc. for the parents are not covered.
If the parents are missing work to be at the hospital with the child then thier normal expenses still have to be covered even if they are not working.
Long distance calls to relatives/friends to let them know of the childs progress.
Travel expenses to and from the child if he is in the hospital for an extended period of time.

Expenses can add up..you would be surprised.
exactly. my sister's b/f has missed work since it happened and they are not close enough to the town they live in to work. Also the rest of the stuff you mention plays a role
