Cyber Panhandling & Stalking - Help from IP experts please

So a total stranger just attempted to threaten me into buying them a livejournal account. They claimed to be using an untraceable IP and that no one would be suspicious if bad things happened to me because of my porn affiliations:

"It has come to my attention that you are proudly affiliated with www.gothicsluts.com, and other high quality websites that produce and sell pornography.

From what I understand, the porn industry is a very profitable one, but unfortunately it also has its risks. Believe it or not, some people find pornography offensive, and people in the porn industry are often targeted by "vigilante types". Stores have been firebombed, porn directors and stars have been assualted and murdered, etc. The list goes on and on of things that will happen."

What the hell is wrong with people?

So far the IPs they have posted with are:

64.12.116.67
172.153.103.21
and 64.12.116.67 again

Can anyone make more heads or tails of this than I can? Any help appreciated. If someone could point me to any good articles on IP spoofing and deciphering who stuff is really coming from, that would be awesome as well.

Thank you! If they just mean their IP changes every time because they are on dialup, I'll certainly be less concerned.

I really LOVE gfy. Being able to get this info this fast has really taken a weight off my mind. Thank you so much Magg and wdsguy! I'm telling the creep that I know they are using AOL and will contact AOL and follow that with a police report to their local PD if they don't get lost.

Ya know, I was just going to let it go, if the person backed off, but they wrote back to me saying they wanted to come by my studio with a bunch of friends. So I've contacted AOL to find out who the creep is. I mean, they might just be loopy and not even in California. I think trying to violently shake someone down for like $25 is the height of bizarre.

That part alone can be interpreted as a threat and if the creep is kidding or not doesn't matter. I suggest you call the cops and legally tear him a new one.

agreed. This is fucked up shit and should NOT be toletaed one fuckign bit! Period! You never know who can go too far and actualy hurt someone.
