And I get yet another call from him...this time from some county jail in West Texas...for "unauthorized use of a motor vehicle."
This is my best friend from High School and I've watched over the years as drugs has taken him into a world of psychosis that I fear will only lead to some type of event where he's sniping people from the bell tower in Austin.
I've done all I can for him but he will not change. He's spent most of his last 10 years wandering the country.
He's got it in his head that the feds have spent most of this time trying to entrap him so they could get him to come work for them.
For awhile he was even flashing some badge that he claimed they gave to him, but the badge had no marks affiliating it with any law enforcement agency whatsoever and looked like a toy.
He wants me to call the feds, because he says he stumbled across a huge smuggling operation and called them before he took the car and now the locals are giving him a hard time.
This is apparently a state felony in Texas and he stands to do 180 days to 2 years in the State Prison.
Shit can't get better than this.
