    Is "Niche" an industry term?

    Do the surfers know what "niche" means? If you say something like "we sort our galleries by niche."
    I know what that means but 12 months ago, I would have been, "you do what?"

    Is there a better term that porn surfer types would know? Time to check out a porn video store and see what they call their "categories". Maybe that is the word.

      its not industry specific. cinema for example have niches as well. as far if your surfers will understand...guess it depends if you get your traffic from geek.com or hillbillies.org

          your getting close.

          I am not too sure surfers will understand niche. So keep it simple and just use standard topics they understand. Anal, Teens, Mature, Gonzo.

                                          Hahahaha! Man, that site started back in the day with a Yahoo listing, then I added a big tit TGP to it. So it was one of the first niche TGPs...updated all the time, so the tit guys loved it.

                                          Lost interest in it after we started hosting, so it's pretty much dead now. Was a fun site to run though.

                                              film and books are "genre" not niche
                                              ex. sci-fi
                                              ex. horror
                                              etc




                                              edit:

                                              i think "niche" IS pretty much a business concept
                                              you say " we fill all niche's (or what ever the plural is) and the average surfer will be looking for like quadruple penetration or whatnot.
