and last night i just saw this gal natalie portman play the orphan with this italian hitman, and she must have been only 11 or 12, and the sophistication of her performance blew me away.
some of the current movies do not allow for the acting skill of actors to shine through. the modern actors cannot be compared to actors from 20-50 years ago and before because right now the actors have all the aids of effects and all sorts of new filming techniques to make the movie great without the need for extensive talent. people currently for the most part do not focus on the actual acting of a certain individual but rather on the overall effect of the movie which incorporates all the visual and hearing stimulations that are desgined and computer enchanced.

If you watch a movie such as the godfather part 1, 2, and 3 you will see what acting power is all about. if you watch something like gone with the wind you will also see what acting power is all about. Any of the old time movies that were considered at the time the best can exemplify the true power of the actors much better than any current hollywood made movie.
