Brando started the method acting trend and inspired a whole generation of actors. While Dean was good for what he did, he didn't live long enough to have the large resume that could have been his legacy. Who knows, if his career had lasted another 15-20-25 years, he could possibly still doing the Rebel schtick...
Also, check out his lesser known roles in movies like "The Appaloosa" (my personal favorite Brando role), "Viva Zapata" and "A Dry White Season"
Even in the shitty "Island Of Dr. Moreau" remake, he turned in a great performance...
