How much should I charge this mainstream corporation to make it's website SE friendly

Ok, a friend of mine works for this big multi million dollar corporation and they have 2 websites that they want to be made search engine friendly, they want me to make doorway pages, optimize keywords and meta tags, increase link backs, contact media outlets and have them review their products, etc.

Now normally I would not be interested in working for someone else, and am quite busy with my own project, but this is a good way to make some mainstream contacts that will come in handy later on, and I will only be working on their stuff a few hours a week.

How much should I charge these guys? Any SEO's here who can help me out? Maybe WG can lend his insight. I don't want to rip them off because my friend works for them and he recomended me to the CEO, just want to charge them what is fair.

Well, I can do that, but what I do will be a reflection on my friend. I don't want him to think I am taking advantage of the company he works for.

Just give him some money and he'll be happy too. I'd charge like 10K at least.

I havent pinpointed exactly how long this will take. I have explained to them the things I will do, my contact man agreed, and he sent me an email just now saying:

"I think I get the point and you are definitely the MAN for this job.
We have had our site up since 85 and I used to get about 10 leads a day..
Now if I get 1 a week I am lucky. So just tell me what it will cost us for
this project and I understand there are no guarantees."

I don't think the web part of the net was up til about 93'. Before that it was all text based gopher and archie and shit if I recall correctly although I have lost a few brain cells since then...

Hourly * $200.00 at the very least for me to consider it. I still probably wouldn't do it for that since I have plenty of business to keep busy for months.

mainstream professional seo's probably charge huge amounts, just like everything else to large corps.

that said I have no idea, check out some seo sites and see what they charge
