Sorry. Guess I should have known that.Originally posted by 69pornlinks
i'm sorry i meant to say what did you use for your marinade
It really depends on what you/your family likes. Fried turkey is traditionally a Southern thing and it's done a lot of the time with creole seasonings and a lot of cayenne, but I have a grandfather who can't tolerate spicy stuff, so I do something mild. Tonight I used:
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 bottle of beer
1/4 cup apple cider
3/4 cup honey
2 1/2 tbsp sweet paprika
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp allspice
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
Another easy one is just plain italian dressing. That's pretty good, too.War National Damn Champions EagleComment

It is a white trash thing, they used to do it in the trailer parks in oklahoma when I was in school there. So in other words, go to walmart and buy your fryer. I believe wal mart gives discounts if you have multiple tattoos.Originally posted by Amputate Your Head
and how long do those things take? Half hour or so?Sig too big

We're having a cajun deep fried turkey made for us at Copeland's. No potential mess that way.
We've never had it, so it will be interesting.Comment

They will also let you pay for your peanut oil with food stamps, fyi. That's why I bought the super sized jug.Originally posted by BradShaw

another option that alot of people are doing here is the Imu kalua turkey... cooked in the ground like the kalua pig.
I bet that's delicious as hell, but prolly takes all damn day just like the pig.
they used some leaves, volcanic rock and....well the rest is a bit hazy....too much pakalolo

Deep frying tastes unbelieveable. There is no better way to prepare a turkey. I had one for the first time a few years ago and I haven't looked back since. I usually pre-order mine for the day before but I didn't get my order in time this year. Damn.I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

No, not at all. I think I paid $39.99 for mine, a couple of years ago. The peanut oil is kind of expensive, but you can strain it and keep it in a cool place and do about 5 turkeys with it. You can use canola too, but you have to really watch the temp. and it doesn't taste as good to me.Originally posted by Raven
Is the fryer thingy expensive?
Here's two:
$37.00
$48.72 and it does shrimp, too
I've also heard they offer discounts to some people.
