Edit: Seriously though, Compaqs are a total waste of money. They are built with the cheapest possible parts available and i've never, ever, seen one last more than 6 months. They are like over-priced volvos
You should look into building your own computers. You would be suprised how much power could actually fit into your "office"

I have a couple custom built ones... I was always too impatient and lazy to go through the trouble... so I bought Compaqs and HPs from the store... I fry hard drives weekly, so I'm used to going through PCs like water!!Originally posted by JSA Matt

I'll use the warantees until the PCs are obsolete and replace them with some custom built ones

It's your monitors! Get a couple KVM switches, they are cheap enough. As far as harddrives, get some Fujitsus.. they NEVER fail. We've had tons of IBMs, Maxtors, and Western Digitals.. they ALL burn out.Comment

i tried that... burned through two 8-port Edimax KVMs in less than a month.Originally posted by JSA Matt

Yeah my monitors are definitely a problem. I kinda like watching them all at once LOL... I should have invested in flat panel LCDs. What I have now, is a temporary set up until I buy a house, then I'll get a KVM switch and set things up better. Right now I am renting a house in the middle of nowhere, there's no broadband available except for my pathetic 2 way satellite, which I had networked to 6 PCs at one time. BIG mistake!Originally posted by JSA Matt

So I have 13 phones lines, plus my dish...
As far as the hard drives... yeah I'll probably have some nicer ones custom built when I had enough of these. Which will probably be next week at this rate

I havent owned a pre built computer in years, last one i owned was in 97 and was an HP AMD k6-2 333. Its all about the custom.. ;)
Word of advice for KVM's.. NEVER EVER buy manual.. i repeat NEVER EVER buy manual switches. I had a manual manhattan 4 port switch and it ruint a keyboard, motherboard, mouse, monitor and PSU.. My power has been screwy ever since. Im using an AUTO RCI MasterConsole 8 port and AUTO Belkin OMNI View 4 port now.Originally posted by wiredguyHaving haters is a symbol that you've made it in this business
