She was hit by a 17 year old guy that had been drinking some beers with friends. The car caught on fire and she was trapped inside for 45 seconds.

Sometimes its hard enough to avoid an accident when you're sober, forget about it when your drunk. I try to get a car with good safety features, so should someone hit me at least I'll have a chance of getting out alive and moderately healthy.
