This is nothing that is restricted to adult websites - go to non-adult webmaster boards and see lots of desperate webmasters who have seen their sites disappear from Google, being replaced by loads of crap and spam sites. Google's so-called "Florida" update is the next big disaster after the one from May, search results are totally screwed up, relevancy has been killed. Lots of searches with adult related keywords now give you all the worst spam and popup hell sites in top positions. I have started using Altavista and Alltheweb again for my personal searches - with much better results.

Google's message is clear; use (and pay for) Adwords and make them rich! Yes, I know, sounds like a conspiracy theory, but do you seriously want to tell me that this whole bunch of intelligent people at Google don't realize that their index is seriously fucked up?

Tons of useless finds in the first 2-3 pages. I get links leading to a page with 1 line "review" and shit like: compare prices... Google is owned by "compare price" sites.

I got spanked by Google last month. I do have some doorways for popups vs. clean tours, but that's about it. Definitely no spamming.

Gotta go through everything & make sure my robots.txt is set to disallow. Which I should've done in the first place....doh!

In some areas it seems spam's taken over, but in most of the adult research I've done alot LESS spam is getting good serps. The PR drop is probably because a good amount of the PR involved in adult trades was artificially inflated. When those sites drop totally, the PR of all the pages they link to drop some PR. The sites that remain probably keep their reciprocal links so there's some more PR leakage. By the time it gets to your sites it's dropped a signifigant enough amount of weight to make you go down a notch.

As far as SE spam goes it's all temporary to a degree. I do it and I always get alot of good serps. I know it won't last but by the time it's gone it'll have made way more than my initial investment.
