Minimum wage in California is $7.50/hr I believe. Nothing wrong with working in fastfood while getting an education or exploring other options. I worked in Carl's Junior in LA for about 1 year while going to school. There were people I worked with that had 2 or 3 jobs at the same time. They fed their families and saved for the future. Everyone's gotta start from somewhere. Nothing wrong with hard manual work.

Don't work at McDonalds, or any other place that caps your wage at about 8/hour. Even a McDonalds manager makes jackshit.
If you want a job which is food related I suggest you become a baker or chef.
At least you can make $20+ hour and someday become manager in the bakery or resturant.

Ever consider bartending? I cocktail waitress on the weekends and know our guys make good money. Easy cash to be made as long as you dont mind working in a smoke filled environment.
I'm not knocking down Mcdonalds but it could be to your advantage to save up the $200 bucks or whatever to take the 2 week course to become a certified bartender (well in my area you need to be certified...check with your local ordinances)
Just be sure to work in any bar other then a college bar?.students don?t tip shit! My bar is in the business section of town, all the suits and ties come during happy hour. Best tippers!
