COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A staff lawyer for the state House is a suspected nude candid cameraman who ambushed women so he could take pictures of their shocked expressions, police said.

The so-called "naked photographer" has struck 39 times -- including confrontations with three women Wednesday -- often wearing only a baseball cap, police said.

According to police, Stephen P. Linnen, 32, allegedly approached two women Wednesday and was arrested when police spotted him nude in an alley behind a supermarket near where one victim reported being confronted. Police found a camera, stocking cap and sunglasses stashed by a nearby garbage bin.

Linnen, deputy counsel for Republican House Speaker Larry Householder, was charged with public indecency and assault, and posted bond.

He was rearrested Thursday on felony kidnapping and gross sexual imposition charges after a search of his apartment, where authorities found incriminating photographs, police Lt. Jeff Spence said.

Messages seeking comment were left at a listing for Linnen and on Householder's cell phone Thursday night.

Police believe the "naked photographer" kept the pictures as souvenirs.

He's a weirdo. But I don't see anything typical about him being a Republican pornographer. I am a Republican, but certainly don't go around ambushing women or men for photos or anything wacky and illegal like that. This is an isolated case, so really... there's nothing typical about it

Well every political party is swamped with hypocrites and liars. Not every Republican is a Christian Facist... I believe in God but I am certainly not a Bible thumper. I'm open minded and moderate. The big mouth, far right that you hear of, isn't what a typical Republican is at all.

Well that segment of Republicans is the one the runs the party and formulates policy. If your in the adult business and you vote Republican you are voting yourself out of a job.

I truly don't believe anyone or any administration will completely get rid of mainstream porn. I welcome the crack downs on the extremely offensive things like fantasy rape, scat etc. But what it all comes down to, is what a jury believes is obscene and that could be anything from a topless woman to golden showers. The laws already exist, they are just being enforced. And the adult industry online, needs some clean up. It's the wild west on here.
