Actually the Bin Laden thing likely has to do with the promise UK made to the arabs around WWI, that arabs would get their independence and certain lands in exchange for their alliance against the Ottoman Turks who were kicking everyone's ass for last 500 years. The 'promised lands' (ironically enough) included the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Jordan and the Levant including Palestine/Israel.

We all know the way things really worked out so this is probably the biggest beef the Osamoids have against western powers. As we all know the 'promised lands' were divided and handed over to arab leaders that were less worried about arab unity and more worried about filling their coffers and harems. And of course Israel, that rebellious semitic cousin of the arabs.

It was just a matter of time. You can't bury the devil with the bargain.
