I don't blame Google for trying to do something about all the porn spam sites out there. About a month ago my girlfriend was looking to buy a bikini from some online store, she typed in "buy bikini" into Google and the results she got were like 80% porn.

Not only that, but the sites were hardly even bikini related porn, it was mostly just general crappy porn. Not relevant search results at all.

I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

I have contacted google with such concerns before on my mainstream sites. They actually blacklisted my flagship site. I sent them a nice little email about how they were profiting off my trade name (they were selling the trade name of my site in the ad words) ,but not giving me a listing in the index. I told them that this concerned me gravely, and of course I signed the letter XXXX XXXX General Counsel for XXX XXX LLC. My site was back in the index and in the #1 spot within 3 weeks.

Agreed... Surfers who search google for porn aren't going to be able to tell the difference at all. They aren't going anywhere unless another major player starts dominating google in ALL categories, as a mainstream brand name.

I guess it's not really a surprise that this is happening, the adult spam problem could not be left forever to run rampant.

Google are in the process of a big clean of all their serps before Xmas.They are only half way through at the moment so dont get excited or depressed about ypur positions at the moment.What google have done is rollback to a June index and have discounted any links that have happened or new sites since then.Then they are processing all the new sites and new links slowly over different data centers and putting them through their natural filters and a couple pf new ones like blog spam filters.
you will see some crazy results at any given time as some filters get applied to different data centers.Old established sites that have old established links like link-o-rama and persian kitty will be unaffected and will even rise in their positions as less secure sites get taken out for filtering.Old pages that depend on new links for their positions will fluctuate as google evaluates those links.Same with new sites...they will keep coming and going as google rolls out all their data.You will see non adult sites in what we consider adult terms because they have no intoduced their adult filter in place on some of their data centers,THEY ARE NOT filtering out ADULT sites!
If you are getting extra traffic from google enjoy it while it lasts and if you are getting less don't panic cause chances are unless you have done some shady stuff like blog spam links and maybe even expired domain (though there is no evidence that google have targeted expired domain links) shit you should come back.

Actually no, that was quite an informative post - if it is true that is. This would explain why some of my latest sites (which were not based on blog spam, etc) where receiveing big hits a week or so ago when they were first added, but now they are nowhere to be seen.

By your logic, I may go down a bit, but so long as I am not a cheater those sites should make their way back to the position they were in? I hope so anyway. ;)

There is no mystery on why new sites have been have got good places in the index.They havent been taken out for filtering yet.If your is new it will fluctuate its position guranteed!If its built on an expired domain or has expired domain links to it it can normally hold its position but not at the moment.I think you are probably exaggerating when you say 5 days.I guesss 4 days max before google drop it from its great positions and cycle it like all the rest

so far all my domains have beat the SE spammers and i havent saw a single listing with cloaking or se spam above me. Certainly google will pay more attention on general terms like "interracial sex" cause they started disputing them as 100% adult oriented like overture did.
