Ech, I've tried Absolut. It's not very smooth at all. Smirnoff is the way to go, if you're going to do it. Mind you, I haven't tried the pricier vodka.
The flavoured ones are bad, though. Apple Twist and Orange are just no good.

Stoli is fine but Moskovskaya is deffinately not the same
Stoli Cristall is clean and smooth
Grey Goose, Kettle 1, taste the same.

if you say absolut is good that means you didn't try anything better,
the best vodka i have ever tried was Ukrainian, they know how to make good vodka, it was "Gorilka" from Nemiroff,
also "Gzhelka" from Cristall is one of my favorite, Stolichnaya is average but definately better than absolutComment
