WTF---Flynt signed w/acacia for $500, one time payment?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. But really, fuck Larry Flynt. He doesn't give a shit about you, me, or anyone but himself. I don't have a problem with that really because I'm an asshole too but don't look to Larry for help with anything.

i doubt it was that low, but was pretty cheap. Even 100,000 for him would be the equivilant of one of us paying 100. In other words, nothing.

These guys like hustler and vivid are going to try very hard to put competitors out of business. They want a bigger piece of the adult online pie.

yes, if true that these companies settled for much less than the standard terms given to everyone else it indicates two things to me:

1. that it is a total PR stunt for acacia.
2. that the big adult companies hope it will thin the herd of competing webmasters.


but, on another front, word on the street now is that colleges and universities WILL NOT be settling with acacia.

and when Stanford University (in silicon valley) decides not to settle with acacia (the folks that basically invented the internet) we can begin to see how this will all play out.

i think acacia really stepped on it's dick by trying to extort $ from universities and colleges, Harvard Law School and Stanford, et al.

that decision will bite them in the ass.

and their stock continues to fall.

The only reason threads like this have an effect on me is that the Flynt family are personal friends of mine.

To see the disparaging things that are said upsets me because they are people I spend my free time on a reguular basis.

People are welcome to feel what they feel...to an extent I understand that seeing a name like Hustler settle is both frustrating and disappointing. To think the Flynt family is doing this to say "Fuck you" you could not be further from the truth....

I cannot say if this was the right move for them iIreally do not know. But as hard as they work to try and continue to move the adult industry forward it sucks to see so many people just say Fuck them....they really are good people and mean no direct harm to the smaller guy

I can tell you that this rumor is TOTALLY false. While I'm forbidden to disclose the exact terms of Hustlers agreement, I will tell you that we are required to pay a significant sum on an ongoing basis.

Further.....Acacia told me directly that the same terms upon which Hustler settled are being offered to other companies small and large who settle before their deadline.

You can think I'm full of shit or I'm biased because I run their program for them. If you want to think that....there's probably nothing I'm going to say that will change your mind. So be it.

However, those that know me, know I've always been 100% honest and straight forward. My word is my bond. If what was being posted was true, I would just keep quiet. But it's not, so I'm here to tell you so. It's total, 100% bullshit.

In times like these, people love to point fingers and find a common enemy. The enemy here is not Hustler. They are trying the best they can to run their own business. They are not trying to put small guys under or gain market share by settling with Acacia. That's insane.....

What I really find interesting is that most of the people bitching about Hustler have never done shit for this industry. Hustler has paved the way for most of us to do business, whether that was their intention or not. Hustler donates hundreds of thousands to the Free Speech Coalition. Hustler has pushed the boundaries of what is "ok" which has helped most of the people on this board.

My company, WebQuest has run several charity auctions within this industry raising over 500k for kids charities. We did it on our own time and expense because we wanted to give something back.

Those attacking Hustler....what have you done in this business besides line your own pockets?

Hustler is good people and we have enjoyed doing business with them over the years and will continue to do so happily. While I do not agree with their reasoning for settling, I certainly respect their decision to run their business as they see fit.

The P.R tool that LFP, Inc gave Acacia by signing a DMT liscensing agreement showed its all about the benjamins, considering most affiliates who promote flyntdigital also promote other sponsors who have not settled.

I have always enjoyed promoting flyntdigital, and will continue to do so, because Larry's Money is just as good as the next persons for me to spend.
