New Kitten

My wife called me at work the other night, very upset because on her way to work, she saw a tiny black kitten sitting in the rain in the middle of the street, and when she stopped to avoid hitting it and got out of her car, she couldn't find it anywhere. Her and another man who stopped looked under the car and all around the area but couldn't find it. They even checked the engine to make sure it hadn't ran inside there. Giving up, she told me she was going to continue on to work. She was very upset that she didn't know what happened to the kitten.

Well, about 10 minutes later she calls me back in a panic. She had made it to work and she heard a loud meowing coming from her car. Some of her co-workers helped her look in her engine but they couldn't find out where the kitten was. Finally, they discovered that the kitten wasn't in the engine at all but inside one of her tires. This poor little kitten had ridden on the inside of her tire for 6 miles! They couldn't get to it, so they jacked up her PT Cruiser and took the tire off to get the kitten out of there. Then one of the drivers took it to the emergency vet nearby and left the number of the store so they could call them back with any news on its health.

Well, it turns out the kitten survived the ride with only a few minor
scratches and she's going to be fine. The vet said she's about 5 weeks old and she weighs less than a pound. We are keeping her and she's going to be an indoor cat, so she won't have to worry about any more unintentional car rides.

Had a cat for 14 years untill the bastard's that stay around here had their way and killed her.

The claws on two of her feet are worn down to her toes. I guess those are the claws she was trying to hang on with. She's in really good health today, ate some kitten food (I think it might be the first solid food she's eaten) and drank some water, and made us proud by using the litter box. This is the smallest kitten I've ever had...I think must have lost her mother in the rain last night or something.

She keeps hissing at the dog and one of our other cats keeps hissing at her. Guess it's gonna take a while for everyone to get used to each other.

Fuck anyone who leaves a kitten that small outside in the winter in the rain. They don't deserve it. It's going to be an indoor cat and we'll get it fixed which I doubt its owners would since they obviously didn't fix its mother. That's if the cat even has any owners. The vet said it was feral and didn't appear to have had previous human contact.

It has taken pretty well to human contact though...snuggled right up to me last night and took a nap on my wife also.

I am allergic to cats but we have 3 now. Indoor cats really don't bother my allergies much though. It's cats that go outdoors that seem to be dirtier and set off my allergies.

Rictor.. what's the kitty's name? I'd opt for PT if she were mine. I agree that if she had a previous owner that person wasn't much of an owner if they let a 5 week old kitten run around outside.

I've lost my two oldest kitties their year. People keep telling me that I should get another one to fill the void, even tho I have several others living. I choose to wait instead.

I have to keep her in here or our male will probably try to kill her. We thought he was going to kill our other cat when we brought her home. Just going to have to keep everyone seperated for a while, until she gets bigger. She keeps hissing at the dog hehe. He's so curious and just wants to sniff her, then she fttt fttt hisssssss's hehe. This is my kind of parenthood, to hell with humans. ;)
