first man made plastic - alexander parkes (UK) 1862
television - john logie baird (UK)
telephone - alexander graham bell (UK)
world wide web - tim berners lee (UK)
first computer - (UK)
printing press - william caxton (UK)
first electric light and light bulb - humphry davy (UK edison refined it)
jet engine - frank whittle (UK)
car - some debate but certainly wasn't american it was european
other UK inventions include latex, radar, refrigeration, telescope, steam engine.

and that's just some UK inventions, there's 1000's more great european inventions. i'm not taking anything awat from the US, but your statement was ignorant

If the Euro can sustain growth and be reliable on a firm basis for at least 10 years, then I'll be a believer. The U.S. needs to get some fastrack or trade union going in order to support the USD.

A lack of an effective trade union has really been the issue for the United States. You can blame Bush for fucking up relations with China which would have been a wonderful WTO and trade partner for us.

Only concern with the Euro is how balanced the currency will remain, and what effect if any the poor four would have on it now or in the future.

But if you don't want your USD... You can always give them to me!

As a Canadian, I've been leaving as much money as I can in my US account & only bringing over the minimum to pay bills. I keep hoping the dollar is going to go back up & then I can transfer more money into Canadian funds...but it just keeps getting worse.

Should I bite the bullet & cash out my US$ now? Or keep waiting & praying?

look into buying some currency optoins. I buy the option to sell USD's at a fixed rate at different time intervals.. Basically just like a little insurance policy
