2nd hard drive.. Windows not seeing it...

Ok, I plugged in a hard drive from an old desktop of mine to a newer desktop.... when I turn on the computer it spins and seems to work ok, but when Windows starts loading it stops spinning and its nowhere to be found in Windows.

Anyone know what BIOS settings I need, etc for this to work?
Everything looks right as far as I can tell.

you probably have to set the jumper on the drive to slave
then set the bios to autodetect

have you checked the jumper settings of the new HD?
make sure its set to slave and try to check this out at the BIOS setup during boot on.

then in the bios you need to enter the data from the hd manually

find out if its slave 1 or 2

then from the sticker on the hd, copy
the cylinders, heads, sectors and enter it into the bios

Im guessing its a new drive. If so try going into your administrative tools> Disk Management . If you see it in that window there then just right click and set it active and format it to NTFS. Hope that helps.
