So there was a "meet the candidates" on some local community channel tonite.
"action" party - the guy was talking about how the banks are the bigbad guys or something or other. Missed half his speach but it was obvious he was clueless.
green party - she came across well, and made the point that they are for changing the way the government/party system works in the first place which I think most people should be starting to clue in on given how things go in both the states and here. But really, they need to change their name and come out with a comprehensive plan so they won't just get looked at as tree huggers. At least she has some experience being on a city council.
marxist-lenonist party - Say What??? Well she was completely out there. She was talking about taking all the money we spend a year on servicing the deficit and using it for social programs. Umm yeah. Get a clue about how countries and economies work.
Conservatives - He's the current MP. Obviously a professional politician and went on and on about Harper instead of what he would do.
Liberal - An accountant. Uninspiring but "acceptable".
NDP - Been with the party since December??? Came across as nerdy and clueless.
I don't know who I'm going to vote for but I know it won't be the convervatives. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that the conservatives are actualy the old "reform" and then "alliance" party. I just don't trust that they won't be like the republicans.
I'm pissed with the Liberals but might end up voting for them. Part of me thinks I should vote NDP but after seeing our local guy I don't really want to. Maybe I should go with the Green Party. Need to do some reading about them.
