    HELP!!! How to design a page in Japanese 101

    Hi all,

    we are an adult web site translation service. We do not do any grafic work (yet).

    One of our customers has the following question/problem:

    Since we will just be providing text, what will their designer have to do to create the graphics? Since they will be doing the graphics, how do they get a Japanese character set for photoshop so they will be able to type in the Japanese characters they want to put on the graphics? Is there a Japanese font set they would have to get?

      We have tons of Japanese sites, but I have no idea what font they use. Have a look at them, and meanwhile, let me ask my JP co-workers.

          Perhaps you should have researched what was needed prior to offering your Japanese translation services?

              Yes, there is a set of Japanese fonts they have to get. Our company used to put a link on our intrasite, now it's gone. I think you can get it somewhere...

                          Well you would have had to do the graphics wouldnt you if the client didnt want to do them for themselves?

                                  Hi Mike!

                                  We have had the same experience with Adult Site Translations. Japanese specifically is not the easiest language to drop into graphics. Instead of having your client do it themselves I HIGHLY reccomend that you/they use a designer who is accustom with it. It's not just a matter of dropping in an international font driver when it comes to some languages.
