    Whats the big deal with cheap giveaways?

    I'm amazed how many people are jumping on a thread about giving away a gaming console. $200? that's it? I don't get it. What is it about an XBOX that attracts so much attention on a site like this?

    This month we're giving away a 43" Plasma television on one of my sites. Last month it was $6,000 in Dodge Viper upgrades, before that a $2,300 Compaq notebook computer, before that a 19" flat panel monitor with 128mb ATI card - let's see some real stuff being given away, not cheap gaming consoles.

                  I think the thread you are talking about is a lame attempt by a few people to spam their sig for 25 cents and to boost their post count.

                      Actually, I'm not SPAMMING as I didn't mention which site is doing the giveaways. My point was simply that I'm suprised at how so little gets so much attention.

                      Lets see some people step up and offer some real prizes.

                          maybe because on the huge giveaways people know that only one or two people are going to win a big prize. If it is a smaller give away where there can me 10 or 20 winners than it seems like more worthwhile playing.
