You can have as many contests as you want. But who is going to be 'participating' is another story. Someone that makes a lot off design, probably wouldn't waste their time on something like this. And the broke designers, will try it ! Maybe .. TRy it!Comment

if it's a comp, at least $500 I'd say, cos the chances of winning aren't that great if too many designers enter

more importantly KRL is time, give enough time, and don't ever ever ever never finish the contest sooner or later than the original date. Make that clear right away.
What kind of contest is this? logo?
I can't say how much money you should offer before i know that, but if its a logo 300 grand should be more than enough.
Its nice to support the community here with a contest but if you want to be absolutly sure you get the best work for your project you should go to a design company and ask for some extra mockups most accept an extra charge to make sure you get the best of the best.
If i weren't a designer myself thats what i would have done, and im not saying it to make you come to me, in fact i don't have time for design work now

i'd say at least $400 for contest. as guys will do their best and only at that rate it's worth risking (ie. entering but not winning). anyway, i sometimes enter the contests even at $50, but just for fun to show that i'm still around... but anyway, to get the best, either put the bid at $400 or more or go directly to the designing company and request a logo

I would want the prize to be worth the effort put in.
$500.00 is a start. We are talking about professional artist.Comment

yeah, I would say about the same - $300 to the winnerOriginally posted by Jer
Something like $300 to the winner, $100 to the 2nd and $50 to the 3rd
$150 for second place, $50 for third...
more people would be interested in that cause the chances of winning smth are higher...Comment
