This is true, but another function of the inventory control system is to flag which products are not being deactivated during the checkout process. The person at the door logs the # and it is used to update the database. With as many items as a Walmart has and the number of people it must take to enter all incoming items there is bound to be a good size error rate.
I really wouldn't think it a smart move to keep going if you set off the alarm, even if you are
certain everything got rang up and you are certain it's on the receipt that you are certain you have in your posession
