Ever pretended to be putting money in a homeless' or a busker's tray/hat/whatever, then grabbed as many coins as you could and run off?

Or going into a restaurant, ordering soup so they bring bread out, nabbing the bread and running away? In a polite way, of course.

I once had only one light bulb, would have to plan out where i was gonna need it before it got dark. sometimes i would ahve to plan out & memorize how to get to another room in teh house, use a glove to un screw teh hot bulb, stumble my way to another part of teh house, & try to screw it in, in teh dark.

I used to be so poor I couldn't buy filet mignon from the butcher.
I had to buy it from the supermarket.
I still shudder when I think of it.

I grew up really poor. Sometimes really no food, rent late, electic shut off.....

I feel sorry for my mom having to raise us with nothing.

Now I help support everyone in my immediate family mostly whenever they need me. Mom is still pretty poor, but she can always come to me when she needs help.
