My old host billed me after I left them weeks ago what can I do?

I joined a new host last month and I only stayed with them for a week if that do to no support and unanswered e-mails. They told me my account was canceled but now a few weeks later they charged my credit card. How can I get a refund? I e-mailed them and asked for one but I doubt if they will reply I also tried calling but just got a machine. What can I do they use ccbill.com to process credit cards could i call them?

Sounds like you joined a paysite and tried to cancel, want a refund that's not forthcoming and so you came to an adult webmaster board to get an answer that you probably won't find. My advice is next time keep the membership... we gotta eat too.

What was their minimum period? You stayed with them for a week, but you might still be liable for the full month, possibly more, depending on their terms and conditions. If they charged you for time that after you cancelled which you weren't contracted for, then you certainly have a case.

I'd like to hear the name of the host you joined.

The first month was 10 bucks after that they bill you quarterly so they billed me for the next 3 months even though i canceled them.

Amp, you can buy content through CCBill, so it's possible you can buy hosting through their processing, too.

Have a long hard look through their terms and conditions before going any further. They might have you in the small print. And post the link here, too.

I'm confused as to why a hosting company would use a third party processor though...it's actually not that hard to get a merchant account for a hosting company...

I could see maybe a smaller content provider or a paysite, but it strikes me as odd for a hosting company (why pay 15% to a third-party when you only have to pay 1.5-2% with a merchant account?)
