Shouldn't they still be held accountable when the person they outsource to fails to deliver?
Early this year, I posted on GFY looking for exclusive content providers. Some one from this board contacted me, saying his company could provide want I wanted for $800 per video. I ordered an initial 6 videos to test the waters. I paid the first half in advance. After several months delay, I received the first few videos and was asked for the second half of the payment for production of the rest of the videos to begin. Now, I should have broken the contract then and forgot about the other 3 videos since the first 3 were so late, but I feel it's important to honor contracts. So, I went ahead and paid for the next 3 videos. Months later, I received 2 of them. The third one, almost a year later, I have never received.
It turns out these videos were outsourced by the company that contacted me and that the person they outsourced them to disappered with a lot of their money, basically forcing them out of business. They seem to think the responsibility to reimburse me for the final video lies with ther person they outsourced the work to. I think it lies with the company that contacted me about the work in the first place.
What do you guys think?
I swear, I rarely have good experiences buying exclusive content. I have plenty of repeat business for you if you can just:
A. Deliver my content
B. Deliver my content on time
C. Deliver my content in the format I have paid for (If I pay for the originals, please send me the originals. If I pay extra for editing, actually edit the things.)
D. Provide me with the proper model docs
