A non prof org about turism here in toronto paid 15 gran for a domain which was used as porn site
their domain was something like torontoturist.com and they paid 15k for toronto-turism.com so it wouldn't ruin their reputation

Depends on the circumstances. If it were an obscure domain name that had value only because of the previous owner's site on it, something like "fountainstreetchurch.org" or something, I'd sell it back for what I paid. If it were a more generic term, something like "schools.com," that a non-profit let expire, I don't know. Also if it were a non-profit with which I really disagreed, like the Aryan Nations or NAMBLA, I'd be more reluctant to sell it back.Comment

we if you really want something for it just tell them they can have it for 2k but you will donate the 2k back to them if you are in the US then you can write the 2k off on your taxes and if you are in a 40% tax bracket then you end up getting $800 for the domain because that is how much you will save in taxes.
