You still root for him even when he doesnt have the powers cause he's still superman damn it.
And the moment he gets the badguys in his Ice house he can reverse the polarity to give him back the powers, and take the powers away from Zod and his goons..
Like SUperman took the powers away from ZOD, and gained them back for himself, so can Jordan.
