Here's an Idea: Promote your OWN program in your sig.

Why the hell would anyone want to promote someone else's program? Create your own. Invest that time into becoming independent. Why work for someone else?

I started shooting content 6 years ago so I wouldn't have to call someone else "boss". Running someone else's banner in your sig (unless you auctioned your sig space for charity like Sleazy) is a lot like working for a "boss" IMHO.

it would kill the webmaster referral system.....and what about people who are designers or sell software?

And a lot of people just aren't creative enough to have their own shit....so they might as well use their sigs for something useful...

I said the same shit couple months ago.

Nothing is sacred it seems. People should rep themselves. For how are others to take seriously what a post whore has to say about anything or perhaps mis construeing what a response within a discussion is representing.

Sponsors are sponsors and not all sponsors are loved by everyone, infact... Whats to say a webmaster that see's another webmaster reping for a sponsor in a sig space would not have impact and thus take offense.

Effectively some portion of the readership will choose not to conduct business with the sig whore on the above basis.

Sig whores hurt themselves. Always will... Seems the shit aint gonna go away as individual representation and integrity is slipping.

Some guys only own TGP and there isn't really a lot of surfer value from a webmaster board to a TGP, unless you promo trades for your own site.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
