what multiplayer games do you guys play?

Counter-Strike

I'm still really into Unreal Champoinship. Quick and easy, but still fun. I've been thinking of giving Ghost Recon: Island Thunder some time and attention, but I like more action and less hiding in the jungle for hours. I think they need a stealth tacktics game with a LOT more explosives, haha...

Unfortunately, there aren't that many people playing online since it is getting old. It is a free mod for Quake 3 Arena. It was programmed by some guys that are true gamers. They built the mod for free and cannot accept money since it is ID software's game engine. I think they built it to be noticed and eventually land jobs. At one point it was the most popular multiplayer online. It is like Counter-Strike, but plays alot better and the maps are superior.

The Quake game engine by ID Software is far superior to the Counter-Strike Half Life program. Additionally, the new Counter-Strike game service called Steam is bullshit.

Even Lucasarts dropped development of 3d First-Person Game Engines because they realized the ID has the best and fastest real-time rendering and lighting. This is why they chose to license ID for the Jedi Knight series.

BTW, there is also a free mod for Quake 3 that is based on Drogonball Z called Bid For Power http://www.planetquake.com/quake3/fe...motw/bfp.shtml

But I play CounterStrike for about 2 years now...

Have played Quake for 3 years. Quake 3 for 1 year (including Urban Terror). Now I play America's Army, and a few other games (GTA:VC when I'm bored).

and umm yeah I tried CoD a few days ago, but the fucking cd keys didn't work. so I deleted the fucking game.

Try to find some cracked servers...60% of the servers are cracked right now ... Im playing there till I get the original.

cool man .. you have played UT .. i have always loved that game .. great for playing a hunter . the maps have excellent hiding places so you can actually sneak up on people stealthfully .. the capture the flag mode is really good and takes coordinastion between players. thingis, the bots are really reall ydumb on it . they do nothing but jump around amelessly.

I love the fact that if you get hit in the arm or leg you begin limping and can bandage yourself. in multiplayer games you actual need players to be medics which is nice

the newer patches are kinda weird though and a bit harder to shoot ppl at close range with automatics and rifles. they also made it harder to shoot when running ... you actually have to practice running and shooting to see how the walk-cycle affects the precision of the weapon

Counter strike is nothing but run-in and kill .. i find that boring . Sneaking around corners and the abiltiy to climb walls makes UT more realistic i think. Plus- the Half-Life engine is weak, the gameplay is not as true and smooth. It pisses me off that ppl online that rage on CS can be that good .. i think they are probably cheating. i dunno. I just like a challenge sometimes.

Have you found a game that compares to UT yet?

ID software hasnet released anyhting in a while .. I havent even seen any press release for a Quake 4. Their last release of Wolfenstein was incredible , but hard as fuck. Bombed dropping everywhere from planes would shake the ground which made it really frantic, which i guess is perfect for emulating a war scenario

everything is pretty much boring and slow paced except Halo. Waiting on Doom3, Painkiller and Quake4.

RTCW: ET is pretty cool. Been playing it plus the game is free which makes it even cooler. I'm a cheap bastard. heh
