on a side note (and this dissapoints me), britney has recorded 4 records. she has sold more with those 4 then madonna has in 20 years. each new record that britney has released however, has sold less the prior release.

it is an unfair comparrison..record company price marketing plans/etc mean it is a different playing field that madonna's was when she was new. Also, the chart system is different if you are going in that method. It used to just be what people could remember they sold vs everything they actually did sell.

It is like when I read that the latest boy band now has more #1s than the Beatles...not the same deal.

anyway - my guess was going to be with Carole King as well.

i agree with you. regardless of sales, madonna has made history. something britney will never do unless she does something in the adult market and even then that may not make a big deal cause madonna released her sex book.
