    Google Penalty Question

I have a site that has apparently been penalized by google, and thus a PR of 0. I had it up to PR6 and it has been around for about 1 year. I have tried extensively to partake in "ethical" SEO.

Now searchign the URL itself in google has a "blank" result turn up and everything points to a penalty. I have NO idea what I did wrong, but it's in a very competitive market so I can only assume I was reported for something. So much for trying to be ethical.

My research leads to the fact that domains are rarely removed from this list, despite any pleas.

As a result, can I simply move the entire domain, content included to a new domain and then expect to get the content re-indexed and awarded the same status it was before? Or will I be assessed a duplicate content penalty, now that the other domain is seemingly banned?

    You could actually e-mail google.
They were very helpful when responding to my e-mail.

There could just be a mess up. If the result is showing blank it seems like a good possibility.

      Cheers,

You actually got a reply from them?
I have a couple of non-adult domains which I was not promoting in any un-ethical ways, just some hard link exchanges with other similar domains, those 2 domains went from PR5 to PR) about 6 months ago and are still at 0, I wrote Google about 5 times and haven't received any reply yet

What's the url to the site?

One way to really check is to find the url of a site which still links to you. View the cache and look if the link is still there to your site. If that's the case and that link has been there at least 2 updates, then you're likely banned.

I don't think Yahoo offers support for anything.
