I think this is a shit, SHIT program. You can't have a hotlink protector that runs in the Apache conf or htaccess and you can't, CAN'T, no fucking WAY use PHP for a hotlink script...Me and another programmer out in SC came up with a full C complied program fucking works nicely! Fuck hotlinkprotector.com and AHL (i think that's it)

paypal told me to fuck off because it's an intangible good or something.
and the dude from my creditcard company told me the best thing i could do is to try to work it out with the seller (who obviously was ignoring me) as they couldn't take the money back.
Never did a chargeback before, so i don't know anything about it.
maybe in europe they have different rules about it, does somebody know ?
now i feel double screwed, once by the scammer and once by the CC company

I bought a script that turned out to be all fucked up once and I asked for a refund a bunch of times from the vendor, but they never responded, so finally I charged back. Visa gave me hell for months about it and finally I had to send in a detailed letter explaining that it wasnt' "intangible goods" but was a software product that was faulty and did not function as advertised. Thats all it took...

We've only done one chargeback in all the years the two of us have had cc's and they mentioned the letter we had to do... the next month the money was credited and the paperwork they were to send never showed up.
It was over a (non-adult) website that had in its (22 page) TOS that you had to join for 3 mos and you had the normal 3 days to cancel etc... we cancelled 20 mins after signing up but they whacked that cc with the 3 mos charge at the time we signed up! Grrr

Just don't let them BS you. You're absolutely correct that it's very dangerous to use PHP + MySQL for this task. Any considerable server load and your surfers will start downloading movies as if they are on dialup instead of high speed cable connection.
FYI, AHL (www.antihotlinking.com) is a C compiled program that SUCCESSFULLY runs at Apache level on hundreds of our client's servers and SUCCESSFULLY protects their movies against hotlinking.Comment
