    How do you know what a website is worth?

    Is there any sort of model as to what kind of value a website (gay adult personals) might be worth?

    I am looking at one for sale that been in business for 5 years (+) and has 300k members with about 35-40k traffic per day. Current revenues are clocked at about 45k/month

    Ideas anyone?

      isnt it usually the net profit in a 12 month period doubled?
      the hun gets revenue from pre-paid gallery placements on the top 15 spaces and banners.
      the rest of thegalleries are free placements.

              Alot of guys base the price off 3 months income.. That's probally a legit price range for a mid to small level site. It's hard to say, all I know is I'd damn sure check things out real well.. I'd want to see not only traffic stats but bank records and so on, if I was planning to spend that much.

                  There is no set formula or calculation as to what a site is worth.

                  The closest text book formula would be the present value of profits I guess. But you would have to factor in other things like opportunity costs and how valuable the site would be to you.

                          nope, its 12 month period squared and if selling on wednesday before lunch its cubed

                              3months income is for a cj-tgp with a month existence

                              not for a real online business

                              if its none adult,i wont be surprised to see a requested price of 24months+

                                  hmm pretty sure a site is worth what you can get some one to pay you for it ....i know a guy whose losing his house his sites are cheap today!!!...
