Ok, I have been playing with this thing for awhile now and have some comments.
First off, please stop comparing it to ICQ. It's not ICQ, nor is it meant to be. This little handy tool does a few cool things.
One it carries referrers on the message senders name. Which means if I post a link to message me on an auction for "Elvis Box Set" or I post a link to message me in a thread regarding a "Weekend Special on Banners" I can see what the topic is before even talking to them and have a url to refer to. That's very handy.
Also, not everyone uses AIM and ICQ, and having all of those on all day or trying to run a third party program like Trillian is simply aggrivating. This chat and message center opens in any browser and allow quick and painless chat without having to either launch ICQ or AIM, and deal with authorizations, and the time consuming deal of scrolling through hundreds of names in either one's buddy list feature.
