*a* is a partisan blow hard that is only able to see the world in terms of their own political views being right, and the other side being wrong.
*a* uses anecdotal evidence, shoddy statistics, and flat out lies to make their case and warp any objective facts into supporting their particular view for the purpose of selling books.
*a*'s books are gobbled up by both their supporters and their detractors. Their supporters, not needing much convincing that they are on the right side of the argument overlook the authors obvious manipulations and agree that they are correct. Faced with "Fact Checking" from the other side *a*'s books are torn apart rather easily and derided as being manipulative partisanship. But their supporters feel that that is just a partisan attack. Neither their supporters nor their detractors exhibit the critical thinking skills necessary to realize that they are being played.
*a* makes big fat wads of cash from people buying these antics, and will continue to become more and more outrageous until the shtick loses its shine and they are tossed aside for being what they really are, only to be replaced by a couple of new fools. Which will be readily embraced by the masses and the cycle will start again.
You can also replace both of those names with several others.
I find it amusing that one side can overlook the same qualities in their guy/gal that they condemn on the other side. Doesn't anyone study rhetoric in college anymore?
