How can you prove that it occurs? Other then having their machines seized and looked at?
Shaving happens in lots of different ways though, from skimming x% of clicks off the top (I believe one sponsor recently was caught doing this), not counting joins, sending your foreign hits to dialers.
There are other ways i'm not thinking of right now.Comment

If you mean present a DA with enough evidence that he can take to court (not prove it to a company)...the answer then is yes as regards jail. As far as paying affiliates that would be a civil court not a criminal court.Originally posted by bdjuf

In some cases I think it could, but the 2 problems you are going to run into is:
1. Real Proof, just look at the 100s of thread on shaving and I've yet to see any real proof that could hold up in court...
2. Finding a DA that wants to prosecute the case, we are porn peddlers and most people would think it's what we deserve... Even if we are getting screwed by other porners...Just the way it is!Looking for Opportunity!

Five years ago we went through the same problems with companies shaving and re-directing hits and unless you want to spend many hours of your valuable time testing sponsors adding up hits which even if you find a sponsor who you know is 100% shaving , you will have a hard time proving it.
Why not swap to promoting affiliate and partnership programs. In our tests we found overall we made 30% more $$ with Partnership programs than with pay per sign up. You have to find a program with good sites that retain well . But by doing this we now have more time to get traffic and spend no time worrying about shaving.

Sooner or later it will happen, but everyone seems to be ok with it just as long as the checks are fat. Strange! Like I said if it was brick and mortar it cant happen. And - If I were relying on selling my traffic to make a living - I would only send it to where I knew the sponsor was being honest -
