Nice. Do they have an affiliate program? I could probably sell it with PPC.

I think Google/AOL/MSN & all should probably push them lower in the results too :-))

I'm seeing a image of what it looks like with it on and with it off.....a site looking like Google was what they chose......trust me, I don't see it in the image.

I'm sure PPC search engines won't like it. The surfer can also turn off the animated images.

? NEW! Search Sanity shows the most relevant search engine results first, not messages from the highest paying advertiser.

Which means that Overture won't be very 'visible' right?

BTW - I won't be surprised if they start a ppc search engine that they will deem 'safe' on their next 'rollout'

BTW...I just checked their site - I think at this moment it's only available to members - it's being offered as a tag on with spam killer. I don't see it if I simply choose to buy spamkiller without logging in......but this is the offer on the actual 'checkout' page.

Well, I used to have tons of ads blocked with a blacklist. You can download lists and ad them to your hosts file. Its not so important now that I have broadband, but back in the day all that shit was a real pain.

Is this with McAfee or some other client?

I think the impact would be greater just because alot of surfers use it and trust it.

                        correct,

I guess someone is going to come out with an advertisement hider for newspapers. I guess all those advertisements that people have to wade through when reading the paper will be just too much for them to handle now.

This is BS, when are companies going to realize they WILL NEVER be able to hide all the advertising on the internet. NEVER.

                        >BTW - I won't be surprised if they start a ppc search engine that they will deem 'safe' on their next 'rollout'

And I bet that they show sponsor listings as well. Through their own affiliate account. Rat bastards.
If you've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow. The Duke.

This is bullshit, they should be sued for altering the pages of the search engines and taking away their revenue.

In fact, wasn't' there a case like that a while ago?

I don't think there is any way in hell they could legally remove google Ad awards. I think that would be a lawsuit happening real quick.

Well, the depiction of it on the email is the Google before there were sponsored listings or google adwords. In the image, it shows both - one with sponsored ads & google adwords and the 'CLEAN' one without either.

? NEW! Search Sanity shows the most relevant search engine results first, not messages from the highest paying advertiser.

                                That's a bunch of bullshit....and I don't even buy PPC advertising.

As a surfer however, I know that someone who is paying money for clicks on a certain keyword is bound to have more relevant content to my search than the google spammer who happens to be ranked #1.

If their content wasn't relevant to the search, they'd lose their ass in a hurry buying traffic for those keywords.
Granted it's usually not "free" content but its still relevant to the search.

                                sig too big

Depending on its effectiveness, it may actually hurt Google more than the others. Kinda sad too cuz they're the cleanest of the bunch. The thing is that Google's setups is not annoying & doesn't really interfere with your surfing experience.

Too bad its bullshit...there is no way for them to remove google adwords...they would literally have to have the program skim the html find where the textlinks/code comes up and block it out...its not like a banner ad where you can block the image or domain of the location of that image. What a load of bs not to mention its not legal.

Maybe there is some type of code that shows it's sponsored - I don't know how they'll do it but it's what they claim & their samples show it without the ads.

More importantly - the thing the product does is stop the surfer from seeing it. The product won't show them the sponsor ads, ppc listings, animations, pop-ups, pop-unders and so on. If they can't see it, they can't click it, hence, they won't be tracked.

As for tracking, if the customer has cookies off, then we are still fucked - I think there should be something to track sales other than cookies too.
