did anyone know AIM can send to ICQ?

i just pasted someones icq number into aim buddy list by accident and it added their icq account to my list, and i am able to message them back and forth.
it doesnt say anything in the help, did anyone else know about this?

I think I've heard of it being done before, but never tried it.

yeah, this is just regular aim, not gaim. i guess icq being owned by aol explains it tho.

Yup. That way you don't have to use ICQ.

I saw that a while back on a slightly older version, but when I tried it, it was kinda tweaky. I couldn't see whether my icq contact was online or not.
