    automated screencaps?

I've seen this before somewhere, but damn if I can google it now. Looking for a program that will read mpeg or AVI and generate automatic screen caps at intervals of N seconds.

Anybody know what does this and works?

I tried it long ago in Cleaner. I am sure other programs do it.....like Vegas and Premiere.
No sig, just here to fuck around.

Thanks, looks like that batch split mode does the trick. As far as I know you can't do it in Cleaner, Vegas, or Premiere (I have all 3).

I downloaded the trial but the automated capture pictures really aren't good enough quality, anything else?

You can try using Virtual Dub. It allows you to use your avi's or even VOB files to make screencaps....you set it at FPS....average scene set at 0.1 will get you about 100 screencaps..0.15 will get you around 150.

Video Charge is made just for this purpose. Does a whole lot more, but seeing as it's a video gallery making tool...this is one of it's main features.

Arrg... Thanks for the ideas, but not a single one met the requirements, or could not work with uncompressed avi and mpeg.

well, if that's what you want to do you can use thumbsplus.

play the avi or mpg file til you see what you want then save cap as jpg or bmp in the quality setting you want.

not automated, but ok for small volume.
