Premiere is a far better product. It's more geared towards quality editing, while Vegas is geard towards easy of use and has less features. I use both, but usually only use vegas for fine audio tweaking after Ive made my final video.

i noticed that as well..but both are very "user" friendly compaired to some of the other editing software around...

i notice the rendering time is a bit faster on vegas though for some simple things

If your just looking to cut up videos Vegas will be fine for that, But I simply could not use vegas alone for the editing i do. It would be impossible. Both Vegas and Preimie are quality products, far better than most on the market.

Don't let Premiere intimidate you! It's the way to go...in fact, I'm going to the Adobe seminar in Phoenix mext week....

no it's not even close, and avid was originally the main video suite on mac for a long time before pc and premiere. final cut express, pro and imovie are the best video programs out there. but if you're on a pc it doesn't matter.

start with vegas and work your way up... take a look at after effects for some cool tricks. Vegas 5 just came out and it's pretty slick! Ulead is good too but vegas is a little slicker.

both have pros and cons which have been discussed in this thread. Better you use them both depending on your needs, just like the Video Editors at Adultoutsourcing.com use, we prefer not to limit our video editing capabilities that will suit our clients satisfaction
