Acacia has already stated that they have sent letters out to Fortune 500 companies, and internet/computer companies.
Until they get an actual lawsuit, they are probably just sitting back and watching what will happen with the 11 adult company defendants.

We'll miss you Serge!
You might want to book ahead to get those "agents" from the show 'Without a Trace' ready to go looking when you go missing!
Hmmm I imagine that will cost a pretty penny in itself!

$500 will set you free...
But if we all send a half buck to Juicy and he goes out on the street for 5 mins hunting the right guy, we all save $499.50 EACH!
No worries that you'll jump the contract next year to $550.00!! etc etc.
Besides the old man would like Poppy's autograph and picture so grab that when you go to book the actors eh?

I gotta get a patent. I'll just hit up the same people that settled with Acacia and Serge. Easy money.
they made a BUSINESS decission that settling is cheaper than fighting.
They will settle with you too, just make sure that the amount you ask is smaller by a mile than the potential legal fees.Comment

The problem is that filing a complete patent application, not just the inital filing, could run you $20k-$50K depending on how complicated your patent is (of course if you stay up late at night, you could get those patent-it-yourself-kits for alot cheaper).
The 'Swing Patent' (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-P...S=PN/6,368,227) probably got by alot cheaper since the kid's father filed if himself as a 'lesson' to show his kid how patents work.... but for anyone serious about filing a patent, you are looking at around this ballpark (ie. prior art searching, full documentation, back-and-forth correspondance with patent examiner, etc).
On top of the expense, you are looking at 2-3 years of backlog before your patent might get validated.....
You're better off just buying some obscure patent from someone and then just broadly interpreting what you want the patent to say, rather that what the actual patent says... then you can send out information packets.... DEJA VU.... this seems like this has already been done before.............
