We spoke to him and made him change the site. It originally was identical. He had to advertise CJ on his site for a while. Not sure what Marc worked out with him. If the search function was working I could find the first thread when we busted him. It was about a year ago.
That's not entirely true.

When I first came across consumptionjunction.com I didn't realize how they did things there. I didn't know they made their banners, etc. I took a banner which was very similar to one being offered by a sponsor. I thought I just hadn't seen it in the resource area. That was my mistake and as soon as it was brought to my attention it was corrected. I also used 1 or 2 text ad lines. Again, this was retarded on my part. It was good sales text, and I didn't really think about it. That was also corrected immediately. That has since happened to me in exactly the same way, so I feel where they were coming from.

I've been developing this site for a little over 2 years, from the day I got my first computer. When I came across consumptionjunction.com it was the first really great design I had seen and they used a lot of ideas similar to what I had in mind.

So I began a redesign of the site using the ideas that I really liked. It was not identical, as I never directly stole code or graphics, but yes it looked quite similar. This wasn't an attempt at ripping off CJ. This was the first step in creating something closer to what I wanted for the site. It was a transitional step between my original very amateur design and what I was ultimately going for. And I had used the same menu that I didn't realize was a CJ trademark. It seemed the best way to cram a ton of things into one small space. It was practical.

Then someone came across it and posted it here. The only thing I was really guilty of was stealing the ads, but I've also been in the process of working on a new design. Since I only get about 4-6k a day on that site, I'm very busy with other projects to make money, and I just haven't found the time to dedicate to a site-wide redesign. That's a very time consuming task.

I never meant to rip off or disrespect CJ. I have nothing but the utmost respect for every member of the crew and what they have accomplished in 5 years online. They have the best, most functional design for that type of site, the best writers, the most creative marketing, and make a thousand times more money in one day than I make in a year.

Consumption Junction is the baddest site on the net, and I can only hope to one day see a sliver of that. I'm not trying to rip them off or ride on the tail of their success or anything like that. People just keep coming across my site in really bad stages of it's design and growth process. Yes, I did rip off CJ and I'll be the first to admit it. But it wasn't to somehow take advantage of what they have accomplished or to make people think they were on CJ, or anything else I'm missing here. It was the first big mistake I made in trying to find a functional and efficient design.

To Marc, Rick, Ryan, and everyone else involved with CJ, I apologize for these indescretions. I'm working on changing everything over, it's just a really slow process and there aren't enough hours in the day. CJ is a great place to learn from, but I'm working on things that time just hasn't allowed for yet. I started off as a fucktard and haven't recovered yet.
