Why is it that countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Chile don't have the standard of living of countries like US, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc...?
They're not exactly 3rd world countries, there are plenty of rich people and nice neighborhoods, big business, natural resources, etc..., but what has kept them from being on the same level as the rest of the civilized world?
I've never studied much about south american countries, but I suspect their biggest problem is corruption. Anybody with any knowledge care to share your thoughts/opinions?
