Who is your favorite of all time! Mine is most def Tank Abbot. This guy is truly a "loose cannon". He is like that pit bull that is just wondering around the neighborhood I partied with him one night in Lauderdale and he was cracking those thick glass ash trays on his he. I got fired up and cracked my champagne glass over my head and cut it open!!! LOL

Kazushi Sakuraba & Wanderlei Silva
Have to go with Sakuraba as #1 favorite, love his fight with Royler Gracie when he breaks Gracies arm. Silva is the meanest bastard I ever saw step in the ring and has knocked out Sakuraba. Pride fights are where it's at these days but UFC still rocks!

Can't forget about those years of the Ken Shamrock/Dan Severn rivalry. That's when UFC really kicked ass -- when they didn't attempt to be so mainstream and implement all the rules they have now.

Severn would come out slapping the shit out himself before each match... good times... good times Who else could be a dead ringer for Freddy Mercury but kick some serious ass??

Actually, one of the best UFC's I ever saw was UFC 7 I believe. This was when it was still a wide open "bracket-style" competition with no weight classes.

If I recall correctly, there was this 450lb+ black sumo guy up against Keith Hackney, who was maybe 225lbs at the time. Hackney ends up getting the bohemeth down and then breaking his damn wrist from giving the guy about 50 straight shots to the head!! Big John didn't jump in too often on those old fights.

Aside from that match, I believe UFC 7 was where the infamous Royce Gracie/Kemo match took place.

True David and Goliath stuff.. which was kind of what defined the UFC back then. I think that's why so many people like Pride better nowdays... the original brutality factor that everybody loved is still there

Tank was the man but his run in WCW as a boy band loving dancing machine kinda killed him for me.

He also shouldn't of mad a comeback to UFC, he lost his tough man rep forever because of that.

That was a long time ago, man - the sport has evolved. Royce would get housed these days. Gracie family is not the dominant force they once were in MMA.

Kazushi Sakuraba is also my favourite, sadly hes throw to the wolves hes fighting a heavy weight this weekend a guy named Randleman.

They're about as dominant as anybody else, now that everybody fights the Gracie way it's a wild guess who is going to win on a given night. Careers are short.

You don't want to fuck around with Ryan Gracie outside of a ring, he's a crazy motherfucker. Very dangerous. Homicidal.

I train at Gracie Academy. Watch out for The Next Generation coming soon, Rener and Ryron Gracie. Baaaaaad boys....

Tank of course because when he first entered he represented the regular tough guy off the streets without all the training. He was doing what alot of us wish we could do but don't have the balls to try. He's got more training now though but he's still an entertaining guy.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what Mike Tyson is going to do in K-1 and if it goes off well and he dominates does he continue and will it mean more fights and maybe UFC or Pride at some point.

agreed, excellent entertainer with subpurb ground skills. He his brass balls cause he always fights fighers who over weigh him. If he ever fought in his on weight devision he would simply own!

many average fans don't know him cause in fight in Japan for Pride, but they will soon know what i'm talking about when in fights in the octogon representing pride in the UFC.

Vitasoy, learn THEN post.

Royce was the BJJ rep in the first UFC. The UFC was started by his brother Rorion, who runs Gracie Academy in Torrance, for the sole purpose of showcasing BJJ.

Rickson was the family champion and the most dangerous Gracie fighter by far but he was big and mean looking. Rorion put Royce in because he was smaller and very 'everyman' looking. It was more impressive when he tapped out the giants than for Rickson to do it.

Sak tapped out to Royce in their superfight but the ref didn't see it. Also Royler never tapped out to Sak, the ref stopped the fight because the armbar looked bad, but it looked a lot worse than it really was. Sak is cool and all, but get off his jock man....

If Gracie was the best, he wasnt by far... both Savern and Shamrock could have beat him on a different day... I also always wanted to see Gracie against a big puncher (with agility) not like Abbot... A Tyson like guy... that can throw knee kicks if Gracie try to go for the legs..

Royce broke his leg. Anyone would throw in a towel for that. As much as I admire Royce, Rorion did the right thing by throwing the towel rather than cause more or permanent damage to Royce.
