Am 19, but I also know a guy (my older brothers mate) who is 30 and went to try one out. He even turned up in his new WRX and he got turned down. There is also a huge waiting list for them too.

I test drove the Mazda RX-8 and the Nissan 350Z with a friend of mine...we were pretending to be a rich newlywed couple. I was NOT impressed with the RX-8 in the least. It doesn't handle worth a crap. Understeers ferociously. They let us take one out by outselves, so we went to an empty parking lot and ran pseudo-slalom courses and practiced e-brake turns. It was fun, but I'd never buy the RX-8.
Now the 350Z was fun! Not as much HP as I'm used to, but it's still respectable and handles lightyears better than the RX-8. We took two out at once, since it's a 2-seater and this dealership wouldn't let us take it out by ourselves and I wouldn't let my "wife" go out with some strange dude without me. Same parking lot...I think the saleman shit his pants. I've never heard a grown man scream so much. Poor guy. The parking lot looked like a medium fog had just dropped in from the smoke from the tires.

And just why would anyone take the time to make that shit up? The guy asks for opinions from those that have actually drove the cars, and I did ...in the same day even... so I post. Why the skepticism? Go drive the RX-8 and bank hard and tell me how it understeers. You'd only know that if you drove it.

Or if you read any of the seventy-five car magazines it's been featured in in the past six months.
I don't think he doubts you drove it, I think he doubts your little story about the salesman screaming like a bitch while you Andretti your way around a parking lot in a vehicle that doesn't belong to you with two employees of the dealership as witnesses.

well im not sure whyd you would wanna make this up unless your trying to pump your own ass. 1st off the dealership wouldnt let you take out the car by yourself and a "couple" is there to test drive it, hmmm so we have a couple of idiots here together to buy one car fuck it lets let them test drive 2 fuckin cars at the same time. there are very few nissan dealers that will let anyone drive these things except serious buyers. i call bullshit on the 2 cars at once. i call bullshit that u were in a parking lot smoking the tires up on a brand new car during a test drive with a salesmen with you. i call bullshit that u most likely dont even know how to shut off the traction control in order to smoke off the imaginary tires of your imaginary test drive. i think the only thing you are smoking the tires off of is your huffy.

Email me and I'll give you the name and phone numbers of the dealerships so you can confirm and post an apology on the forum.
(Here's another thing I'm sure you'll yell bullshit at), but I drove up in my Saleen, which is worth a hellova lot more than the RX-8 or the 350Z and a hellova lot faster (I modded it to 516 HP). Maybe that's why they took the chance, I don't know.
The Nissan dealerships wouldn't let us take out a 350Z by ourselves, but wanted us to drive two of them (at different times), because one was the enthusiast and the other whateverthefuck they call it. Ones completely manual with no traction control and the other is automatic with manual overrides and traction control. They wanted my "wife" to drive it first and then me, but I wouldn't allow it, but suggested taking both out at the same time, since they wanted us to drive both anyway. I was in the automatic first and switched at the parking lot. I never had to take the traction control off because the manual doesn't have it.
And why the fuck would you think someone doesn't have the balls to smoke tires on a new car with a relatively inexperienced salesperson in the car? hell, the saleman even said to me, "don't be afraid to punch it." and I replied, "you say you don't want me to be afraid to punch it, why don't we go this parking lot and let me show you how it's done." That's how we ended up there in the 350Z, even though I was going to head that way regardless. Just because you wouldn't have the balls to do it doesn't mean no one else would.
The RX 8 is a sweet looking car.. plan on testing one soon, that and the new GTO... I really do not like the looks of the new GTO but 0-60 in 5.3 sounds pretty cool.
Test driven both the Rx-8 and the 350Z. Isnt much of a problem to test drive both in Las Vegas. I have to agree though, the 350Z was much faster and handled much better. I do think that the interior of the Rx-8 is better though. The back seats and that divider in the middle are cool as hell. In the 350Z if you dont get the nav, you get a big ass glove box in the middle of the dashboard that looks like shit.
